APHT’s mission is to provide affordable health insurance and products designed to meet the needs of Louisiana’s medical community.

Who can buy insurance from APHT?

An employer must meet ALL of the following eligibility requirements to be eligible for APHT’s plans:

1. Be a licensed physician in the state of Louisiana who is in good standing
2. Be a member in good standing with the Louisiana State Medical Society (LSMS)
3. The employer maintains business licensure and all appropriate state filings allowing the company to actively conduct business in the state of Louisiana
4. Employers are required to have a minimum of 2 employees enrolled to qualify. 

Which of my employees can sign up for APHT's plans?

For an employee to be eligible to participate in APHT’s plans, they must meet the following eligibility requirements:

1. The employee meets the hourly requirements for eligibility
2. The employee is a Louisiana resident

For newly eligible employees, employees have thirty (30) days from their date of eligibility to enroll in APHT plans. If your new employee is outside the thirty (30) day window, they’ll have to wait until the next annual enrollment period.
